Our Accomplishments

Since its inception Council of Social Concern has provided social and educational services that have helped tens of thousands of the area’s most vulnerable individuals, including abused and neglected children, seniors, low-income working parents, households experiencing food insecurity, and immigrants. All of our programs serve individuals and families from Woburn and Winchester. Some of our services also assist residents in other Middlesex County communities.

9200+  INDIVIDUALS BENEFITTED FROM OVER 3000 HOUSEHOLD VISITS TO THE FOOD PANTRY, WITH OVER 39% OF THOSE BENEFITTING BEING CHILDREN, TEENS, AND SENIORS

138  CHILDREN RECEIVED SERVICES FROM OUR CHILDREN’S CENTER AND FAMILY CHILDCARE SYSTEM, WHICH PROVIDED THEIR PARENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOLD A JOB OR ADVANCE THEIR EDUCATION

1974  INDIVIDUALS FROM WOBURN AND WINCHESTER RECEIVED EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE

30% OF THE CHILDREN IN OUR CHILDCARE PROGRAMS WERE REFERRED BY DCF FOR ABUSE AND/OR NEGLECT. THE AGENCY PROVIDED THEM AND THEIR CARETAKERS WITH FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

326 FAMILIES RECEIVED FOOD BASKETS FOR THANKSGIVING

29 FAMILIES OF CHILDREN ENROLLED IN OUR CHILDCARE PROGRAMS RECEIVED NEW CLOTHING FOR THEIR CHILDREN SUCH AS PAJAMAS, WINTER COATS, HATS, BOOTS, GLOVES, ETC.

259 FAMILIES RECEIVED GROCERY GIFT CARDS TO HELP PURCHASE FOOD FOR CHRISTMAS

237 INDIVIDUALS WERE REFERRED TO EMERGENCY COMMUNITY SERVICES THAT PROVIDE SHELTER, HEATING, FUEL, RENTAL, AND SNAP ASSISTANCE

23+ WOBURN AND WINCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS VOLUNTEERED AT THE AGENCY AND OUR COMMUNITY EVENTS
